The lake is beautiful
Lake Ontario has been called Lake Ontario since forever. Well, technically, for more than 400 years, as it comes from the Wendat word Ontari'io, meaning “the lake is beautiful, the lake is big.” It predates Canada. It predates the United States. It predates social media and executive orders.
Recently, someone decided Lake Ontario could use a new name. We Canadians considered this carefully and said, nah, it's always going to be Lake Ontario. Said person also AI-generated a bald eagle attacking a Canada goose — an image that perhaps did not account for one important piece of Canadian knowledge: Never pick a fight with a Canada goose. You will never win. Never.
So, we thought we’d help clear things up for those who may be confused. What better way to show some Canadian pride than to wear it? Our apparel* is thoughtfully designed for Canadian weather, maybe for some Canadian animals, and anyone who knows that a perfectly good name needs no changes.
